Write For You: Professional Writing and Research Proposals
Until the Writing's Done
I've written a number of these sort of verses now, trying them out on the blogs first but I intend to put them in a short book of verse for writers on Lulu eventually.
When you're writing on a daily basis Life can get quite tough When you've had your fill of names and faces But must complete those empty spaces Then you know you've had enough.
Every time you hit those keys each day You wonder why you do it. Writing articles for little pay Hunting down the words that get away The writing gets you through it.
For write you will and blood you'll spill To do that which you love. You'll write that stuff which you find tough You'll see it through, it's what you do. The writing is enough.
When you've paid those bills you'll have the time To write words just for fun. To visit worlds you'll never see To play with words so cleverly Until the writing's done.
Chandler and Marlow
Marlow's my man, or rather he is the man for me. Walking the mean streets but remaining untouched by the corruption. Where has this come from you might ask? Well a while ago on British TV they were showing Humphry Bogart as Marlow from Chandler's brilliant book The Big Sleep.
There are a lot of authors I love but Chandler I can wax lyrical about. His dialogue is out of this world and his use of metaphors and similies is sheer magic. And I love Marlow, Chandler's main character is a private detective, down at heel and honest as the day is long. Corny huh but this is corn with class. If you haven't read Chandler then you haven't lived. And even then you haven't truly lived until you've seen Bogart's interpretation of Marlow.
